How do we even begin to treat M.E?

Re: Is there a chance to recover function from M.E?

I think I was trying to move too fast before.

...

The first thing any person with M.E wants is some small degree of understanding of their situation. And they do not need an intellectual argument or reasoned debate. They need compassion. They need a simple, strongly communicated, feeling: "I can see you are ill and I want to help you".

Can you imagine if all our doctors had said that?!

I had M.E for 35 years. For years my condition was severe. I understand exactly what it feels like to have M.E and I know just how hard it is for M.E patients to even tread enough water to maintain even their current low level of health and activity.

I am now climbing mountains in Wales. I am much better and my improvement is no accident: I worked on the problem for many years and I would like to take this opportunity to share what I learned with other M.E patients in the hope that they too can climb mountains once again.

I can see you are ill and I want to help you.

Hugs.
